Final news from the Beatrice Project
Dear friends and supporters of the Beatrice Project.
As many of you already know, we have had to take the difficult decision to close the Beatrice Project charity. This is obviously a source of great sadness and disappointment to all of us, but we know we have done over ten years of life-changing work and affected numerous communities in rural Zimbabwe.
It is largely because of you that thousands of underprivileged girls have been helped to complete their education and many have gone on to further training and found employment. We are proud of the contribution we have made to the cultural shifts that have taken place: in many villages, menstruation is no longer a taboo subject and whole communities are much more knowledgeable about and respectful of the issues faced by girls and young women.
We are now in a position to distribute the residual funds we have. They are being given to three charities to support th eir work in Zimbabwe. Each of these shares our goals and passion and we are confident that BP’s funds will be used in accordance with our stated objectives. Should you wish to give them your support, please ask me for contact details.
Once again, thank you so much for your faithful giving, encouragement and support, for attending our fundraisers, for hosting events of your own and for believing in the work we were doing. We have all, and I in particular, been touched and humbled by all you have given to what began in 2015 as a tiny project, named after my Mum.
Thank you on behalf of the Beatrice Project team,
Sue
